Grossmont College is on 135 acres in El Cajon and serves more than 18,000 residents in the East San Diego County area. The campus is in the Fletcher Hills community of El Cajon and is bordered by San Diego and Santee. It is one of the two colleges that make up the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.
The college offers associate of arts and associate of science degrees and certificates programs, career technical education and workforce development, student support services that promote student access and achievement and community education classes.
In 1961, the campus was planned to accommodate an enrollment of 2,500 day-time students, and the completed campus was expected to hold 4,800 students. Since that time, student enrollment has increased to a peak of more than 16,000. But several phases of construction since then have grown the campus size to meet the demand.
