California Community Colleges Board of Governors to Name New Chancellor on July 18

What: Board of Governors President Geoffrey L. Baum will introduce the chancellor of the nation’s

largest system of higher education at the beginning of the board’s regularly scheduled public meeting. A
media availability will follow.

Why: Former California Community Colleges Chancellor Brice W. Harris retired in April 2016 after more than three years as the system’s chancellor. The California Community Colleges Board of Governors immediately launched a nationwide search to find his replacement.
